The World Cup is over and it's time to look forward to the Alma Family Funday and BBQ, we hold this event every year to raise funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care. This year's event takes place on Saturday 25th August and over the last 2 years we have raised over £3,000 for this deseving local chairty. Now we can't do this without your help - maybe you could donate something for the Tombola/raffle, maybe bake some cakes, or maybe you know a local business who could help, anything to help us raise funds. If you can help contact Mark Goddard on 07876 746183 (before 8:00 pm please) or Stevie-Ann or Matt at The Alma on 01252 266373.

On the subject of charity, well done to all those who took part in a charity bike ride from The Alma to Hayling Island on Saturday 25th July. This was to raise funds to help Lizzi Jordan (a friend of the cyclists) aged 20, who has been left blind after a serious and rare blood disorder. If you want to find out more or maybe help there's a crowdfunding page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lizzijordan . Once again congratulations to all who took part!

Don't forget the Alma Pub Quiz every Monday evening, starting at 8:15 pm. Come and test the old grey cells and have a chance to Open The Box and win the cash Jackpot! and every Friday evening we have a Meat Raffle - drawn at 6:30 (ish!), £1 per ticket

There has been a public house called the Alma (or Alma Inn) on this site since the 1860s, named after the Battle of the Alma which took place during the Crimean war. Obviously the pub has changed a lot since then but it has always been the centre of the local community and we hope to keep that tradition going. Why not stay up to date with what's going on at the Alma by following us on Facebook or Google+
